Fast-rising comedy show, Chipukeezy Show, will premier on Wednesday night for the first time in a new TV station.
Chipukeezy Show took a break months ago after being ‘fired’ from Ebru TV over his colleague, Kartelo, and visitors he invited during his time.
Ebru had claimed that the show had turned ghetto-ish and asked Chipukeezy to render Kartelo jobless and bring ‘serious’ people to his show so as to reach a particular bigger audience.
“Hey, Guys… A quick one. So I received an email from Ebru TV asking me to terminate my agreement and Collaboration with Kartelo on my show. They say they are a bit concerned that the show has become a bit Ghetto because of the many Youths (Upcoming Musicians and Comedians) on the show. They requested that we try and change the format a little bit. Maybe interview more politicians and a few Corporate Executives. For as much as I respect their request or rather decision, I would like to categorically state that I feel my calling and mission could just be the exact opposite.”
Chipukeezy resigned from the station and has since been looking for a new home before nesting on TV47, a fast-rising TV station based in Nairobi.
Unlike the previous show on Ebru, this time around, the show is recorded on Monday and aired on Wednesday at 8:00 PM and his first guest is his mother.
A section of Kenyans is happy to see Chipukeezy back on TV and promised to support him in mentoring and giving exposure to talented youths.
Here are some of the reactions:
Kahame on Twitter said: One of the guys that supports local talent is Chipukeezy Vini. He set up a platform to facilitate growth of local talents.

Bosibori: Chipukeezy has given lots of young people a platform, right from Stevo Simple Bwoy, Msupa s, DJ Shiti, Kartelo, the list is endless.
This guy has impacted life in many youths than many of the comedians in the same class as his.
