Rwandan artist, Ngabo Medard, alias Meddy has been arrested.
The ‘slowly’ hitmaker was arrested for driving while drunk in Kigali city.
“He was arrested when he was caught driving under the influence of alcohol, he will be detained for five days and fined 150,000 RWF (Equivalent to 15,000 KSh)” Kigali Police spokesperson Goretti Umutesi said.
Police in Kigali earlier this month started an operation to crack whip on motorists using roads under the influence of alcoholic drinks.
Some have come out to condemn the police for detaining them for over 5 days even after paying a fine of 150,000 RWFs.
Alcohol impairs a driver's judgment. A drunk driver is prone to making several traffic offenses like over speeding and making bad maneuvers, among other.
Drunk driving attracts a fine of 150,000 frs, imprisonment, confiscation of the driving license and impounding the vehicle.
