The detectives under the director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have recovered a gun used by Embakasi East Member of parliament Friday morning shooting.
The MP shot Felix Orinda popularly known by his stage name, DJ Evolve in Kilimani’s B-Club.
The famous high-end club which hosts who is who in the society took Orida to ICU under critical condition.
The detectives recovered the gun at the club and also nine rounds of ammunition and a spent cartridge have also been recovered and placed as exhibit awaiting analysis by ballistic experts.
Babu was arrested over the same and to be charged for attempted murder.
On his defence, Babu said he retaliated an attempt on his life.
” I was surrounded by a large group of aggressive individuals. In the melee, there was an exchange of gunfire,” read his post in part.
In addition, he said that there has been an assassination attempt and went down to unveil the report he filed earlier this year.
” A few weeks ago, I made a public statement regarding threats that I had been receiving against my life. At the turn of the year, I reported an attempted assassination at the Parliament Police Station under OB number OB21/17/11/2019 at 17:28hrs.
“I have been living under the weight of intimidation and threats by my political opponents,” he stated.
The young MP also urged his supporters to remain calm during this time and promised to serve wananchi and the Handshake government.
” I urge my supporters to remain calm. I will continue to serve wananchi fearlessly. This will not deter me from supporting H. E Uhuru Kenyatta and H. E Raila Odinga in the journey to transform our country,” he concluded.
