The government spokesperson, (Rtd) Cyrus Oguna has revealed that there would be a ‘small’ mass after the retrieval of the bodies.
This will put a halt to a 13-day nightmare of the Likoni Ferry accident that robbed off a young family of mother, 35-year-old Mariam Kighenda and her 4-year-old daughter Amanda Mutheu.
The victims had gone to check on their family farm in Msambweni, Kwale County and get vegetables when they met their death on their way back on Sunday, September 29.
With the help of South African divers, the car was spotted on Wednesday, Toyota Isis, and was to be pulled out on Thursday.
The weather was not good looking on Thursday making forcing the suspension of operations until Friday morning when it resumed.
The bodies are yet to be retrieved and the car is underway being pulled out of the ocean according to the government spokesman.
A mass will be held in the area before the announcement of the burial.
