Public outcry has made Deputy President William Ruto respond to the police brutality during curfew introduced on Friday.
Ruto said that the police must act with civility when dealing with Kenyans during this trying time when enforcing laws.
Uhuru Kenyatta on Wednesday introduced the daily curfew starting from 7 PM to 5 AM in a bid to combat the deadly Coronavirus that has since claimed 1 person and 38 tested positive.
Fellow citizens,the corona pandemic is serious,VERY SERIOUS.The GoK curfew (partial lockdown) is meant to curtail movement so as to reduce spread of virus. Us All MUST comply with the terms of curfew without EXCEPTION. Law enforcers MUST act firmly but with restraint & civility.
Police around the country were reported to have roughed up Kenyans who were caught outside after 7 PM and showed no mercy.
