Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa has stayed true to her words in the heated Ganda by-election scheduled for Thursday 17th October 2019.
The female MP in her quest to outdo ODM in the coastal region by supporting an independent candidate has claimed a life of the parti’s agent.
Jumwa had earlier promised to deal with “governor’s boys” and other agents from Nairobi who went to Ganda to ‘disrupt’ election.
In a recent development, Aisha Jumwa is reported to have been arrested following the death of ODM agent.
Earlier, Aisha Jumwa reportedly stormed a private meeting held in preparation for Katana’s ODM candidature ahead of the by-election.
Jumwa, however, has distanced herself from the mayhem.
“When I reached the event, I met a guy called Agunga who claimed that I would not interfere with the event as the police were around. I don’t know what the police were doing in the area. I believe ODM had a sinister move as the campaign periods were over. ODM should be held responsible for the death of the deceased. I would like to urge my followers to be calm and remain in their houses,” she said moments after her arrest.
Contrary to that, ODM’s Director of Communication Philip Etale took to social media to point fingers at the female MP.
In the ensuing melee, someone in Hon. Jumwa’s vehicle, began firing at the people. Mwamure’s uncle’s Mzee Ngumbao Jihole was shot in the chest and died as he was being rushed to hospital. Jumwa then sped off to unknown destination,” Etale claimed.
