Senate majority leader Kipchumba Murkomen has watered down the swearing in of Kiambu Deputy Governor James Nyoro.
Nyoro has been acting Governor since July when Waititu was charged with Sh588 million corruption case alongside his wife and some county officials.
On Wednesday 29th January, the Senate voted to impeach Ferdinand Waititu, a move that shocked Tanga Tanga brigade.
Murkomen Criticized the Swift move by the court to swear in Nyoro without waiting for 10 days after the day of impeachment.
This is a different approach compared to that of Embu governor Wambora who moved to court to appeal his impeachment.
“A High Court Judge cannot preside over swearing in of DG of Kiambu to be a Governor before 10 days are over and before they Gazette the date, time and place for conducting the swearing in Ceremony,” he tweeted.
He also sarcastically added that the new Kenya (under BBI) is working just fine.
“But you know what ? Everything is working like a clock in the new Kenya,” he said.
What next for Waititu and his Tanga Tanga allies?
