The burial of Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi’s father Abel Gongera went from still to chaos after Dagoretti MP Simba Arati took the microphone.
Arati who is an ally and supporter of ODM leader Raila Odinga took a jab on Deputy President William Ruto as he asked him to apologize for the post-election violence that rocked the country in 2007.
Speaking in his local dialect, Arati said that Kisii people were killed in Ruto’s strongholds and that the DP was in Kisii was a perfect opportunity to say sorry to the community.
Mourners chanting ‘Ruto! Ruto! Ruto!’ forced him to cut short his speech as chants became deafening.
The adamant MP continued talking but chaos rocked the podium after he was forcefully ejected and this made him trade hands with MP Osoro.
A video has now emerged of the two MPs fighting as DP Ruto and Raila Odinga watch, making the burial ceremony halt for some few minutes.
