ODM leader Raila Odinga Saturday led the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) rally in Mombasa to sell the proposal of Yusuf Haji-led Taskforce to Kenyans.
The handshake politicians and Tanga Tanga brigade attended the controversial event that saw thousands of coast residence attend and collectively received Baba and his team.
DP Ruto skipped the meeting after he hinted during the week that he will consult the president on how to go by during the highly awaited rally.
Raila set the record straight that BBI is meant to unite Kenyans and cracked ribs through nobody can stop reggae song.
He also rubbished claims by deputy President Willliam Ruto that he went to him before meeting Uhuru in 2018 which gave birth to the handshake.
He said that Ruto was not a candidate and he went to see Uhuru who was his rival during the last general election.
Also in attendance was Ruto’s close ally, Senate majority leader Kipchumba Murkomen who sang Baba’s songs and praised him.
Murkomen also pledged his support for referendum something which he had gone against last year.
